Joining North Coast Men’s Chorus as a singing member
We would love to have you join our chorus community! We welcome cisgender men, transgender men, and non-binary singers of all sexualities who can sing in the Tenor, Bass, or Baritone range. And by welcome, I mean WELCOME! Our goal is to help you find a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable space amongst us!
The North Coast Men’s Chorus has three concert weekends each year, with rehearsal cycles preceding each concert. The first two rehearsals of each cycle include New Member Vocal Placements.
New Member Vocal Placements
We have two Sundays of new member vocal placements, our first two weeks of rehearsal. Come for either of those vocal placement opportunities!
NCMC says vocal placements instead of auditions because it is a more accurate term for what happens. When you arrive you will fill out a wee bit of paperwork with me and then talk with our Artistic Director, to do a vocal placement. Our director will play a few notes on the piano to assess your vocal range and ask you to match some pitches. That is the extent of the placement. So easy! You will be assigned to the vocal section that matches most with your range. From there you will meet your section leaders who can help you get acquainted with the people in your section and what to expect from a rehearsal.
We rehearse Sunday evenings from 6:30-9:30 pm at
7165 Big Creek Parkway
Middleburg Heights, OH 44130.
